Memorial Day weekend kicked off with the display of American flags on each side of the bridge over the Mianus River on Rt 1.
In the midst of the Friday evening rush hour, ten flags were assembled along each side of the bridge. The project, which has become a tradition, was coordinated by Greenwich Selectman David Theis and the Cos Cob Volunteer Fire Company. Whether fishing from beneath the bridge, or from a passing car, there was no bad view of the proud flags, a fitting display of patriotism in time for the holiday.
