Police: Expect Low Flying Eversource Helicopter in Greenwich for Transmission Line Survey

As part of an ongoing effort to strengthen the power grid and increase reliability, Eversource says it will be surveying vegetation growing near its high voltage transmission lines.

According to Lt. Gray at Greenwich Police, residents can expect the helicopter air patrol on March 30-31 and April 4-8.

According to Eversource, no flights are scheduled for April 2 & 3, Saturday and Sunday.  All flights are weather permitting and will take place between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00 pm. The work involves using two helicopters to cover more than 800 miles of transmission rights-of-way in Connecticut. Eversource helicopters assigned to this project are blue and gray with a registration number N1431W, and blue and white with a registration number N411DD.
