Montanaro: On Tuesday, Vote Row A

Submitted by Joe Montanaro, Cos Cob

Please come out on March 5th and Vote Row A. We defend ideals and freedoms that should not need defending, but in today’s world we must.

I believe values travel with you no matter where you’re from. It’s how you were raised and what you believe in that matter. I have embraced Cos Cob and found a community of incredible people here.

Some of you have been getting mixed messages from certain individuals in town. It is an unfortunate situation. The fact is the current District 8 Greenwich Republicans are the ones who stood up for Cos Cob last November and kept us Republican against all odds. It takes an incredible amount of time, effort, energy and dedication to be one of the RTC (Republican Town Committee) leaders. I am happy to do it because helping the people of Cos Cob is beyond a worthy cause.

If you remember last year when good citizens were demonized ahead of the RTM elections by the “Voting Moms,” not a word was said by Fred Camillo or Lauren Rabin. Great members of this community were falsely attacked and called “extremists.” Generational residents and newcomers alike were defamed in the media.

Start with Capalbo, Natale, Capparelle, Scarpelli, Catino, Tommasino, Montanaro, Dodson, Lauridsen, Solari, the Pastores, DeVita, Cichy, Chmiel, Moran and more. That is just in District 8. Countless more were vilified all over Greenwich.

We publicly and proudly stood up for you against the national organizations, and their supporters, who have infiltrated the town.

Dems posing as Republicans is a national strategy across America in towns like Greenwich. They misrepresent themselves as a “United” party and they are not conservatives by any metric. They are the Uni-Party, for themselves and their agendas, not for the masses.

Some are running against us in District 8 and other districts. They call themselves the  “Unity” ticket, however they are anything but. Almost all of them do not believe in Republican values, they want to undermine the progress of the Republican party and keep power centralized with a select few in town, aka the Uni-Party. We believe that We the People should have the most say.

The GOP can become strong again without sacrificing our principles and caving to Democrat agendas. Last year’s municipal election proved this. We remained unapologetic and strong to republican values.

The Dems of 2024 are a relentless group. Appeasing them does not mean you earned their vote.

They will vote Democrat every time.

If you support collusion between the PTAs, building committees and the Democrat party thus jacking up our school budget and increasing taxes, then our slate is not for you.

If you support mask mandates, Hartford overreach, high rises, government shutdowns, forcing medical decisions on children & town employees…. then we are not for you.

The sudden vitriol from those we helped earn a sweeping victory in November is highly misguided, self-serving, and factually inaccurate.
We have endorsed and fully supported every Republican candidate over the past two elections cycles. We will continue to do so.

We extended this unbridled support despite undermining from within our own party that goes back to the Kim Fiorello election where she did not receive any help from certain folks in the party. Ironically those same folks did not support our republican BET campaign last year.

Many are individuals and politicians who are now trying to upend us, without cause, with these D8 primaries. Even after we already won at our caucus last month.

If you truly believe in unity, then you should support the hardest working RTC Cos Cob has seen in a very long time. It takes teamwork to overcome only having 29% of the electorate in town. We did that together.

*You may also vote Absentee at Town Hall at the Clerk’s Office from 8am to 4pm on Monday 3/4/24

*Vote Row A*
Thank you and be well,
Joe Montanaro
