COVID-19 survivor Gabriel Cid of Greenwich ran a 5K on Monday from Byram Shubert Library to Greenwich Hospital to mark the one-year anniversary of being admitted to the hospital.
Mr. Cid ran the course with family, friends and hospital staff, while more were on hand to greet him when he arrived at the hospital’s front entrance.
Mr. Cid spent 37 days at Greenwich Hospital, including 30 days in the Intensive Care Unit where he was on a mechanical ventilator for three weeks.
He was discharged from Greenwich Hospital on May 18, 2020 to become the 2,500th discharged COVID-19 patient across Yale New Haven Health System.
