St Lawrence Club to Honor John and Sharon Vecchiolla at Annual Columbus Day Celebration

The St Lawrence Society’s annual Columbus Day celebration will take place on Monday, Oct 8.

This year is the club’s  31st annual celebration of Columbus Day and for the first time, they will honor not one, but two people.

John and Sharon Vecchiolla been devoted to the Greenwich community for decades.

Each has served in appointed, elected, and volunteer positions which have benefited Greenwich residents and families.

Collectively, they have been involved with organizations including Greenwich chapter of the American Red Cross, Kiwanis Club, St. Mary parish, Greenwich RTM, Greenwich Democratic Town Committee, Greenwich Registrar of Voters, Greenwich Board of Education, Knights of Columbus, Planning and Zoning Board of Appeals, Selectmen’s Nomination Advisory Committee (SNAC), Greenwich Scholarship Association, Byram Archibald Neighborhood Association, Southwest Greenwich Association, and the New Lebanon, Western Middle School, and Greenwich High School PTAs.

On Columbus Day, October 8, John and Sharon will assist in raising the Italian and American flags at 9:00am at Greenwich Town Hall.

All are invited to join us for the flag raising at 9:00am then at the Saint Lawrence Club afterwards for a light breakfast.

Then, at 6:30pm the Vecchiollas will be honored at the club with an evening that includes cocktails, presentation of awards and an elegant dinner. $100 per person.
