The Junior League of Greenwich is excited to announce that after a 2-year pause, Touch A Truck is returning on Sunday, May 22, 2022.
This year’s event will take place at Greenwich Town Hall (101 Field Point Road) from 11:00am to 2:00pm, rain or shine, with VIP early access available starting at 10:30am.
On May 22, the Junior League will welcome powerful trucks from Greenwich’s Department of Public Works as well as fire trucks – including antique fire trucks – police cars and motorcycles, and ambulances. In addition, there will be construction equipment, a wide array of kids’ activities, and a variety of food trucks with delicious treats.
During this fun-filled day, children’s dreams of sitting behind the wheel of a fire truck, honking the horn of a dump truck, or riding a roaming railroad will be brought to life.
“We are thrilled to be hosting TAT once again, and are pleased to offer a new component – designed for children who would benefit from a reduced sensory experience – to this always entertaining event for youth and parents alike,” stated Karen Richard, JLG President. For the first hour, families will be able to explore all of the trucks and vehicles in a smaller group setting, while vehicles refrain from the use of lights, horns, and other loud sounds.
A variety of family entertainment and food trucks will also be available during this time. When purchasing Touch A Truck tickets, you can select a reduced sensory experience ticket from 9:30am-10:30am.
Touch A Truck is a major fundraiser for the Junior League of Greenwich and draws more than 3,000 attendees each year. During this year’s event, attendees are encouraged to help us “Stuff A Truck” with non-perishable food donations that will be donated to Neighbor to Neighbor.
General Family Admission to Touch A Truck is $55 in advance (individual tickets are $12 each), and VIP Family tickets are $125. If you are unable to attend but want to support the cause, you can purchase an “Angel Ticket” for a child in need to attend. Proceeds from the event will benefit the community projects of the Junior League of Greenwich including PositivelyMe!, Done In A Day, Done in a Year, and Money Sense.
Ticket prices will be higher at the door so be sure to purchase online today. Advance tickets can be found on the Junior League of Greenwich website at www.jlgreenwich.org/touch-a-truck.
