Island Beach Concession Opens June 14, Run by Abilis for 5th Year

Abilis, the nonprofit organization providing services and support to more than 800 individuals with special needs and their families, and the Town of Greenwich, are very excited to for the opening the Island Beach Concession Stand on Saturday, June 14.

This will be the fifth year in a row that Abilis has managed the concession stand serving up favorites such as burgers, fries, hot dogs and lots of frozen treats and refreshing drinks and snacks. The Island Beach Concession Stand is open based on the Island Beach Ferry schedule June 14 through September 15, 2025.

“We are thrilled to be back managing the Island Beach Concession Stand for our fifth summer,” said Amy Montimurro, CEO and president of Abilis.

“The last several years have been a fantastic opportunity for our community members to work side-by-side area teens in an inclusive employment environment serving the community,” Montimurro added. “They love riding the ferry and love serving the customers. It’s a wonderful way to spend the summer and we are so happy the Town and the community have put their faith and business with Abilis to run the stand.”

The concession stand offers beach favorites like hot dogs, hamburgers/cheeseburgers, french fries, chicken strips, Mac bites, sandwiches, salads, wraps, bagels and baked goods and of course a variety of ice cream, popsicles and candy. Beach visitors can also find picnic items like BBQ charcoal, sand buckets, shovels, toys and more.

The Island Beach Concession Stand is open seven days a week June 14 through August 31 and then on weekends in September through September 14.

The Island Beach Concession stand closes each day 30-minutes before the last ferry leaves for Greenwich Harbor.
