Neighbor to Neighbor, the only food pantry in Greenwich, is extending its daily hours of operation as of Monday, January 6, 2025 to better accommodate the needs of clients.
Previously, standard hours ran from early morning to mid-day, with the exception of Thursday afternoon.
Neighbor to Neighbor hours are now Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, with additional hours on both Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-6:30 pm. Saturday hours are 8:30 am to 1:00 pm.
The newest change to this schedule is the addition of Wednesday afternoon hours. Previously, Thursday was the only day with extended hours.

“We’re delighted to introduce the new Wednesday afternoon and early evening hours, as we believe it will better accommodate our clients’ needs,” said Fund Development Manager, Mary Louise Morgan in a release.
The addition of the Wednesday afternoon food pantry hours also gives student volunteers an extra time slot to accumulate community service hours.
Since early 2024, Neighbor to Neighbor saw an 18% increase of monthly families being served with an average of 795 families. This is considered a significant increase in comparison to previous years, with an average of 574 families.
“We saw a significant increase of monthly families coming to the pantry in 2024. Seeing these numbers rise really helped drive this decision to expand our hours, as the demand is now increasing more than ever. We hope the new schedule will allow us to accommodate more individuals and families in 2025,” said Executive Director, Brent Hill.
Neighbor to Neighbor is a food pantry serving the local community in Greenwich by providing access to nutritious food, clothing, and other essentials in an atmosphere of kindness and respect. Between 2023-2024, it distributed over 300,000 lbs of fresh fruits and vegetables, which is equivalent to 640,800 meals.
In 2025, Neighbor to Neighbor will be honoring its 50th anniversary. Staff, volunteers, and board members will be joining together to commemorate the organization’s mission to serve the local community. The 50th anniversary is also a kind reminder of the organization’s successful campaign in bringing more awareness towards the rising issue of food insecurity in Greenwich. Overall, it has led to a positive increase of community involvement that Neighbor to Neighbor looks to strengthen in the years to come.
