Greenwich Green & Clean Announces International Coastal Cleanup at Greenwich Point Park

It’s that time of year again! Grab your gloves and join Greenwich Green & Clean for the annual International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday, September 19, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Greenwich Point Park (Tod’s Point).

This global event invites the community to come together to protect our oceans and waterways by removing harmful non-biodegradable trash from our shoreline.

All collected trash will be tallied and reported to Save the Sound, which will then submit the data to the Ocean Conservancy. The Conservancy works with global partners to analyze and address pollution in our planet’s waters.

Pre-registration is encouraged and can be completed on the Greenwich Green & Clean website at www.greenwichgreenandclean.org/events/international-coastal-cleanup. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Participants should check in at the tables set up in the parking lot across from the first concession stand. No beach passes are required for those joining the cleanup.

Gloves and buckets will be provided, but participants are welcome to bring their own. This is an excellent opportunity for community members to contribute to the health of our local environment, and certificates for community service will be available.
