Update: We’re extending the coat drive through Friday, Dec 10. Thank you to everyone who has filled the porch with so many donations. We’re in the process of sorting and laundering some of them. (Appreciated if your donation is laundered in advance if it’s soiled).
Original story: While many people in Greenwich were able to switch over to remote work in the past year and a half, the pandemic has impacted some people far more than others, and those struggling financially or coping with homelessness are hurting the most.
GFP is organizing a coat drive, and for the second year will set up a donation table on the front porch of 21 Lincoln Ave (downtown, between Mason and Milbank) for easy contactless drop-offs at your convenience.
Last year hundreds of coats, warm sweaters and winter gear for men, women and children were collected for local non-profit organizations, and we’re eager to make it happen again.
To date, we’ve arranged with Pacific House and Inspirica to receive donations and plan to expand the list of receiving agencies.
The coat drive will run Tuesday, Nov 23 through Friday Dec 3, 2021.
