The 3rd Annual Lighthouse Tea Dance will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2025, from 3:00-6:00 pm at the Foundation House at 124 Old Mill Rd in Greenwich.
This fundraiser is a community effort to raise money for Lighthouse, a program of Kids In Crisis, Lighthouse LGBTQ Division.
Enjoy an afternoon of music, gourmet bites, and fashionable fun at the picturesque Foundation House estate. All proceeds will benefit Lighthouse, a Kids In Crisis program.
Lighthouse, a Program of Kids In Crisis is a peer-to-peer social support program for students who experience marginalization or discrimination based on who they are.
Their groups are relaxed and social in nature. They build community through art, games, and discussion. No bullying is ever allowed, and everyone is given a chance to be heard in a safe and casual setting. Youth from any town are welcome at any group or special event, and organizers are working to expand the program reach into new towns throughout Fairfield County.
Alon Marom, who was the original founder of the event, and served as executive director for over 20 years at Kids in Crisis in Greenwich, said, “This event was born from a simple idea: to bring together individuals who care about the LGBTQ+ teens and their safety, while allowing them to be their true self, around a traditional Sunday Tea Dance which has celebrated gay and queer rights for centuries, and to see that vision brought to life and embraced by so many is truly rewarding.”
Co-chair Christian Meskers said he was honored to have been asked to join the exceptional team of leaders within Fairfield County’s LGBTQ Community, and to help a program that directly impacts kids K-12 within Fairfield County.
“Given the economic and political challenges this past year, which have had immense impacts on our public schools and communities – it is more important than ever before to show up, donate to our LGBTQ+ Causes, especially queer youth,” Meskers said. “Please buy a ticket and join us at Foundation House on September 7 to make this event a success!”
Co-chair Chris Spiegelman said Lighthouse creates a safe, welcoming space where every student can be heard and valued, and it builds community through creativity, connection, and kindness.
Bill Pierz who is co-chairing the event for the third consecurive year, said, “This cherished event holds a special place in my heart – not only as a celebration, but as a beacon of hope and unity for the LGBTQ+ youth.”
Lighthouse offers a 24/7 crisis phone hotline, housing, mental health, community programming for LGBTQ children K-12 of Public Schools based in Greenwich, Darien, Norwalk, Ridgefield, Westport, Fairfield, New Canaan, Bridgeport, and Wilton – across Fairfield County.
Tickets for this benefit are $125. We are also accepting donations, and have sponsorship opportunities – all proceeds will benefit Kids In Crisis – Lighthouse and the programs they run to support kids ages K-12
