Boys & Girls Club is in Need of School Supplies

For nearly sixty percent of Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich parents, ‘back to school time’ is stressful as the cost of school supplies, along with the payment of their other essential household bills cause a struggle. The Club’s parents may not have enough money to pay all of their pertinent bills plus school supplies for their children.

Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich is working to help its members. More than 300 Club members, ages six to eighteen NEED backpacks and school supplies for the 2018-2019 academic year.  Diamond Hill United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church and Little Pub in Greenwich are working together to collect backpacks for Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich members and Neighbor to Neighbor, but believe they will fall short as the need for supplies is great.

Rev. Carol Bloom of Diamond Hill United Methodist Church is the organizer of the backpack drive and feels that only if the community works together, will they be able to secure enough backpacks.  We cannot fall short as these children need support.

Rev. Bloom would like community members to donate school supplies or to pledge financial support as Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich and Neighbor to Neighbor will be able to purchase materials at discounted rates.

Pledges are 100% tax deductible and will help hundreds of children.

To pledge contact Takeia McAlister at [email protected] or Carol Bloom at [email protected]. All school supplies donations should be directed to 521 East Putnam Avenue, Cos Cob, CT 06807 by August 5, 2018.
