What began as a dream just a year ago, championed by dedicated teachers, parents, and an enthusiastic PTA, has now become a reality, thanks to the generosity of our parents and community supporters, which include the Greenwich Alliance for Education. With the unwavering support of Parkway’s music and chorus teacher, Mrs. Tricia Garten, Principal Mary Grandville, producer and parent, Mrs. Mia Gyesky, and PTA President, Ms. Lauren Rockliff, Parkway’s PTA took on the challenge of launching this inaugural production.

The result is a true community effort, with an extraordinary team of parents and educators bringing Broadway magic to Parkway.

Mrs. Garten and Mrs. Gyesky, in collaboration with director, Greenwich Performing Arts’ Ms. Michelle Marceau, Parkway parent and seasoned Dancing with the Stars choreographer Mr. Christian Perry, and veteran third grade teacher and experienced play director, Ms. Michelle O’Brien, round out the distinguished team that has brought this show to life.

Many thanks to Parkway parents Garrison Gunter, Marina Queiroz, Norma Suin, and Erynn Shedlin who have lent their talents to help build sets, design costumes, and create props.

What began as a pilot program anticipating 20 to 30 participants, quickly exceeded expectations, with more than 70 students from grades 3-5 joining the cast and crew. The overwhelming response underscores the enthusiasm for expanding the arts at Parkway.

“This level of participation speaks volumes,” said PTA President Lauren Rockliff. “It demonstrates the need for strong arts programming in our schools. It has been incredible to see so many students engaged, learning, and developing a love for the performing arts.”

Annie Jr. was chosen for its timeless message of resilience, hope, and joy—an uplifting story brought to life by our talented students.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Parkway community and our generous donors for making this production possible.
