Virtual ‘Spring for Abilis’ Sing & Dance Party Hosted by Billy Blanks Jr Set for Saturday Night!

Abilis, a non-profit organization that provides services and support for individuals with special needs and their families, is taking its annual Spring for Abilis Gala virtual!

Get ready to dance and sing the night away – from the comfort of your own home – with dance superstar Billy Blanks Jr, as he hosts a fun and interactive Spring for Abilis Sing & Dance Party with celebrity guests.

The virtual gala is open and underway, which includes a Silent Auction, a Cause Appeal, The Giving Garden and The Abilis Art Gallery.

“Abilis is a lifespan services provider for individuals with developmental, intellectual, autism spectrum and mental health disabilities ranging in age from babies to seniors,” said Amy Montimurro, President and CEO of Abilis. “The gala is Abilis’ largest fundraising event of the year.”

“Monetary donations are vitally needed at this moment to allow us to provide the continuity of services our families rely on for their loved ones in our programs,” Montimurro added.

The gala co-chairs are Bibi Clarke and Dina Urso of Greenwich, and Fran Cohen of Weston.

All three have very strong connections to Abilis as they are mothers of children and young adults who have benefited from Abilis programs.

Billy Blanks Jr is an international fitness guru, Broadway director, choreographer, creator of Dance It Out and host of the Dance It Out TV show on Lifetime Network.

In his early years, he danced in music videos with Paula Abdul, Madonna, Celine Dion, Crystal Method, Quincy Jones and Babyface.

Billy is also the Artistic Director of the newly renovated historical Wall Street Theater in Norwalk. He has been the MC for Abilis’ Dancing Stars of Greenwich event and its Walk/Run for Abilis this past year.

Founded in 1951, Abilis is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that supports more than 700 individuals with special needs and their families from birth throughout their lives. Services include Birth-to-Three early intervention and customized therapies, to help young children achieve important developmental milestones.
