The Chickahominy Reunion Association has stepped up to the plate and is helping their neighbors in a big way.
The group has donated $5,000 in gift cards to families living in the Chickahominy area who are in the most need of food and supplies.
Families are identified and screened by case managers in the Greenwich Department of Human Services in Town Hall.
This generous donation will provide much needed relief for families struggling to meet basic needs, due to the current unusual circumstances.
Dr. Alan Barry, Commissioner of the Department of Human Services, said, “the Department is extremely grateful to have partners in the community who are willing to identify and then meet such a critical need. Thank you so much, Chickahominy Reunion Association.”
“We are so proud to be able to help members from our neighborhood of Chickahominy,” said David D’Andrea, Treasurer of the Chickahominy Reunion Association. “It is our mission to always help there whenever we can.”
“During these difficult times it should be the primary focus of our community to come together to help each other,” said Frank Cortese. “The Chickahominy Reunion Association was created to do exactly that. We are here to help others in need as much as we can within our community. We are helping to do our part by donating funds to social services so that they can give gift cards to people who need it.”
