Neighbor to Neighbor Announces New Board and Staff Changes as Need Rises

 

 
  Neighbor to Neighbor has been Greenwich’s only dedicated food pantry for more than 50 years, filling gaps in the community with the support of donors, volunteers, and partners. As needs shift, the organization has shifted with them. And today, the need is greater than ever. Rising costs of food, gas, and other everyday expenses, along with changes to eligibility for federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, have pushed Neighbor to Neighbor’s client numbers up 13% compared to this time last year. And more than 11,000 families across Fairfield County are at risk of losing some or all of their SNAP benefits, a change expected to have a ripple effect on Neighbor to Neighbor and other food pantries in the area. RTM Considers Resolution in First Read of SOMR: “Fiscal Prudence in Town Dispute Resolution”

The resolution, “Fiscal Prudence in Town Dispute Resolution,” will have a second read in September. It was inspired by Greenwich First Selectman Fred Camillo’s lawsuit against the Greenwich Board of Education.
