Signing Ceremony at GHS is Milestone for Hard Working Student-Athletes

At the second Greenwich High School signing ceremony of the year, 11 student-athletes were congratulated by principal Ralph Mayo and Athletic Director Peter Georgiou.

The student-athletes participated in the National Letter of Intent Signing Day ceremony indicating their intent to continue their athletic careers in college next fall.

Years of hard work led to the happy moment in the GHS media center, attended by friends, family members and GHS staff.

“The athletic program at GHS is a wonderful program and probably the largest high school program in New England with 42 varsity sports,” Principal Mayo said. “It’s just massive.”

Mayo said as of Wednesday, 22 GHS student-athletes had earned Division I scholarships to college.

“That’s no small thing,” he said, adding that there will be more because there is another signing day in May.
