Run Laps to Give Back: Old Greenwich School is Running 1,850 Miles for Americares Hurricane Fund

Old Greenwich School is excited to announce their first annual “OGS Run For America,” an event for students to bond together in school spirit and be active with the common goal of tallying miles to ‘run across our country’.

This year the school is running with a specific purpose in mind, offering kids and families a chance to give back to those affected by recent hurricanes in the US. Even parents and staff are running.

Students will have the opportunity to run laps during recess from October 16 to Oct 20  “from Old Greenwich to Florida, and then to Texas” while keeping Puerto Rico in mind, as they note it’s impossible to run there.

The challenge is to run a collective total of  1,850 miles. Every 6 laps=mile. and money raised will be donated to the Americares 2017 Hurricane Fund”.

Parents can donate on line   https://secure.americares.org/site/Donation2?df_id=22521&mfc_pref=T&22521.donation=form1

… and kids can bring cash to put in the buckets.

The idea is to offer a great way to exercise while realizing good fortunate in light of the recent tragic devastation from Texas to Puerto Rico.
