GHS Class of ’84 Reunion Committee Dedicates Plaques in to Honor all Senior Class GHS President and the Memory of Sam “Chip” Telerico

On Tuesday, the Greenwich High School Class of ’84 Reunion Committee dedicated two plaques in honor of all Senior Class Presidents and in memory of the 1984 Senior Class President Sam “Chip” Telerico.

“Chip,” as he was known in high school, had led the  Class of ’84 Reunion Committee since they graduated, and the committee wanted to do something lasting in his memory.

Telerico passed away from a tragic accidental fall in Old Greenwich in January of this year.

The plaques, which hang outside of the main office, list every Senior Class President dating back to 1971, which was the first class in the new Hillside Road location. The previous high school is the current Town Hall building.

“Chip was an incredible class president, an always organized reunion leader, and most important, a caring and inclusive friend to everyone he met throughout his lifetime,” said Kendra Farn. “These plaques will be here forever to honor him as well as all of the student leaders past, present and future who work so hard for their classmates.”

Class of 1984 classmates and friends on hand for the dedication included Kendra Farn-Finz, Patty Thibault-Hopper, Tracy Hellinger-Freedman, Dave Pollard, and Paul & Erin Chiappetta.

Also present were his father Samuel Telerico, sister Robin Telerico-McCool, GHS Principal Ralph Mayo (Class of ’71), Class of 2026 Vice President Nicolas Sosa, and Class of 2027 incoming President Jack Juergens.
