Women Face Multiple Charges Following Incident at Greenwich Avenue Bank

On Sept 23 Greenwich Police responded to Greenwich Avenue on a report of a possible fraudulent bank transaction where suspects used a fraudulent Massachusetts Driver’s License with a victim’s personal identity information in an attempt to inquire about the balance of the victim’s account.

Police say a clothing and physical description was provided to plainclothes officers.

As officers converged on the area, Krystal P Caraballo, 32, of Laurelton, NY, was confirmed to be a co-conspirator of the other suspect, Roshida Nmi McLeod, 52, of Liberty, NY, who inquired about the victim’s account.

Investigation revealed Caraballo conspired with McLeod where they used a fraudulent MA driver’s license with the victim’s personal identifying information to impersonate the victim and attempt to steal their home equity line of credit information, checking and savings account balances.

Police detained Caraballo and McLeod in the bank and then placed them both under arrest.

Caraballo was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6, Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft 3, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Impersonation, Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 2 and Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 3.

McLeod was charged with: Criminal Attempt Larceny 6, Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 6, Identity Theft 3, Conspiracy to Commit Identity Theft 3, Criminal Impersonation, Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Impersonation, Forgery 2, Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 2, Forgery 3 and Conspiracy to Commit Forgery 3.

Bond was set at $2,500 for each Caraballo and McLeod. They share a date in Stamford Superior Court on Oct 7, 2022. Each was able to post bond and they were released.
