Railroad Ave Pedestrian, 78, Suffered Serious Life-Threatening Injury

Greenwich Police shared an update on the collision involving a motor vehicle and a pedestrian Monday morning.

According to Public Information Officer Captain John Slusarz, at approximately 8:45 am police were notified of a motor vehicle versus pedestrian accident on Railroad Avenue in the area of Field Point Road.

A 35 year-old Stamford resident operating a Range Rover, was turning left from Field Point Road when he struck a pedestrian crossing the street. The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The pedestrian, a 78 year-old Flushing, New York resident suffered a serious life-threatening injury and was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of family.

The road was closed for approximately two hours while members of the Greenwich Police Departments Crash Reconstruction Team conducted an investigation
