Man Familiar to GPD Charged with Being a Porch Pirate

On December 13 Greenwich Police arrested a man who was wanted on a warrant for Larceny 6 for an incident that took place on Henry Street in Byram on Oct 25.

Back in October a package was stolen from the front door of a residence on Henry Street. Investigating officers conducted an investigation and identified David R Giacomara, 24, of River Street in Greenwich as the responsible party and they obtained a warrant for his arrest.

He was unable to post his $5,000 bond and was assigned the next available court date on Dec 14.

Giacomara has a history with Greenwich Police. Back in October Giacomara was a passenger in a car during a motor vehicle stop. When questioned by officers, he attempted to deceive them by providing a false name. They found he was in possession of several Suboxone sublingual films, a controlled substance that he did not have a current prescription for. He was also in possession of several used hypodermic needles, which he related he used to inject heroin and a ‘buck’ knife with approximately 4.5″ blade. He did not provide any reasonable excuse for possessing this weapon.

A week earlier he was arrested for stealing a gym bag that was inside a car. The owner of the bag said it contained sweaty gym clothes and New Balance shoes.
