GPD: Truck Driver Arrested, Truck Towed from Downtown after Blocking Traffic

On July 3 Greenwich Police say a truck driver unloading cargo in an active lane of traffic on East Elm Street created an unsafe situation for cars exiting Liberty Way.

Police asked the truck driver, later identified as Ricky Gallimore, 29, of Garfield Ave in Bridgeport, to move the truck to a loading zone.

Police say that Gallimore declined to move the truck and replied that he was only doing his job.

When officers asked for Gallimore’s license, registration and insurance he declined that request as well.

Gallimore was arrested and charged with Refusal to Show License, Improper Parking, Interfering with Officers and Disorderly Conduct.

Due to the severe traffic hazard, the truck was towed from the scene.

He was released on a promise to appear in Stamford Superior Court on July 17, 2019.
