GPD: Pedestrian Hit, Purse Stolen, Car Crushed

On Monday, Lt Slusarz of Greenwich Police Dept confirmed that a pedestrian was struck by a car on Aug 29 around 7:40am.

Police say the incident took place near the Coffee Café Roasters on Greenwich Ave after a driver heading south on Greenwich Ave turned onto Lewis Street and hit a pedestrian in the crosswalk.

Slusarz said the woman who was hit was 81 years old and the driver was a woman in a 2016 Lexus. The victim did not sustain life threatening injuries. The driver was issued ticket for failure to obey a stop sign.

“She was in the crosswalk and the driver failed to yield,” Slusarz said.


On Sept 10, an 18 wheeler maneuvering in the area of 315 Milbank Ave, which is the address of Infiniti, crushed a parked car.

The badly damaged car was a black Escalade.

No one was injured as the parked car was unoccupied.

The incident took place at 8:58am.


On Sept 9 between midnight and 7:50am a purse was stolen out of a 2015 BMW 320 on Home place.
