At 2:15 Greenwich Police Lt Slusarz announced that Fairfield Road is expected to remain closed into the rush hour Friday night for repairs. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and to expect delays.
The road was closed between Old Church Road and Hillside Road Friday morning due to a motor vehicle crash.

At approximately 7:45 pm Thursday night, a vehicle struck and knocked down a utility pole.
While replacing the pole a water main was struck and broke.
Utilities were on scene all day on Friday working to repair the water main and replace the pole.
