DUI, Risk of Injury to Child Charges for Woman Stopped at I95 Exit 2 On-Ramp

A New York woman faces charges after she was stopped for failing to maintain lane on the northbound ramp onto I95 in Byram.

Police say as the vehicle was traveling on the ramp, it began to stray from its lane to the right and continued until it completely crossed over the fog lane and into the breakdown lane before slowly traveling back into the travel lane and onto I95.

The vehicle stop was initiated on I95 and through further investigation it was determined that the vehicle driver, identified as Tanya Alberdi, 29, of MoheganLake, NY displayed red, glassy eyes and the odor of alcohol. She was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard.

Police say there were two juveniles in the car.

Alberdi was additionally unable to provide proof that the vehicle was insured. She was charged with Failure to Drive in Proper lane, DUI, Risk of Injury to a Child (2 counts) and Failure to Insure Vehicle.
