Fall Clean Up and International Coastal Clean Up 2020


On Saturday, September 26, from 11:00am – 3:00pm, Greenwich Green & Clean and Skip the Straw Greenwich are sponsoring a fall cleanup at Greenwich Point as part of the International Coastal Cleanup.

All non-biodegradable trash will be tallied and reported to Save the Sound for submission to the Ocean Conservancy which coordinates with organizations throughout the world to analyze pollution of the earth’s waters.

COVID protocols to be observed:
MASKS, SOCIAL DISTANCING, AND SMALL GROUPS WILL BE REQUIRED.
To preregister on-line, click on greenwichgreenandclean.org. To join at the beach, stop at the tables at the first parking lot on the right for COVID safe signups.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own buckets and gloves and to wear appropriate clothing. Socks and sneakers or boots will help avoid Poison Ivy.

However, disposable gloves and sanitized buckets will be on hand.
For virtual participation, photographs of families or small groups collecting trash can be submitted at [email protected] or use social media tags @GreenwichGreenandClean or @SkipTheStrawGreenwich along with a list of items collected.
