On May 20, Greenwich Police requested the assistance of the Connecticut State Police K-9 unit in searching for Jean Dinsmore who had been reported missing on May 19.
Police said this was the fifth track attempted by four different police canines, as there was a continuous around the clock police investigation being conducted since the time Ms Dinsmore was reported missing. Previous K-9 searches were negatively effected by the higher than normal winds.

Jean Dinsmore was last seen on May 18 at 5:30pm. She was reported missing on May 19. She was located on May 20 around 7:30pm after several searches by a CT State Trooper K-9 Unit. Earlier searches were negatively effected by higher than normal winds.
During the investigation, a Command Post was set up at Ms Dinsmore’s residence. From there, multiple ground searches were conducted and Greenwich Police Department’s drone was launched numerous times.
Police contacted area hospitals to determine whether Ms Dinsmore or any Jane Does had been admitted, and transportation companies were contacted about the possibility of giving her a ride.
A Missing Person Flyer was distributed both physically and on multiple social media platforms.
Police followed up on the numerous tips received from the public.
During this fifth search, at approximately 7:30pm, a Trooper and his K-9 partner located Ms Dinsmore in a wooded area along the northern King Street corridor. The Trooper alerted Greenwich Police who responded and rendered medical aid while requesting an ambulance.
Ms Dinsmore was subsequently transported to an area hospital for evaluation. There she was reunited with her family.
In the release police said Chief Heavey thanked the public and all agencies involved in the search.
