After Hit-and-Run, Range Rover Driver Tracked down at Hair Salon on Greenwich Ave

Following a crash on Lewis Street and Benedict Place on Saturday afternoon, a Rye, NY woman was arrested and charged with hit and run.

The incident took place at about 4:30pm on December 10 after Caroline K English, 40, of 6 Purchase Lane in Rye, NY, left the scene of an accident without exchanging information with the other driver.

According to Lt. Kraig Gray, after the victim’s Lexus was struck in the municipal parking lot on Lewis Street, a witness called police, relaying that he had heard the sound of cars crashing, seen a Range Rover reverse out after the accident had head for Greenwich Avenue.

The witness recorded the license plate number of the offending vehicle and noted that there was damage to both vehicles.

Lt. Gray added that the damage to both vehicles corresponded to each other.

Contacted by Greenwich Police, the owner of the Range Roger said the driver was at a salon on Greenwich Avenue. Greenwich Police located the driver of the Ranger Rover at the salon on the Avenue and arrested her.

Ms. English was charged with Evading Responsibility and Unsafe Movement. Her bond was set at $100, which she was able to post. She has a court date on Dec. 29, 2016 in Stamford Superior Court.
