Woman Charged with Passing Fraudulent Prescriptions at Pharmacy in Greenwich

Karen Uomoleale, 42, of 860 Heritage Hills in Somers, NY was arrested on November 9 by Greenwich Police.

Back in October, Greenwich Police Narcotics Section responded to Greenwich Pharmacy on a report of a woman passing fraudulent prescriptions.

On scene investigation determined that Ms. Uomoleale attempted to pass two prescriptions for controlled substances from a medical practitioner who had died over a year earlier. Uomoleale was charged with drug law violations. She was released after posting $1,000 bond.

The Narcotics Detectives continued to investigate, and learned that Uomole had successfully passed 25 additional fraudulent prescriptions in 2016 at Greenwich Pharmacy, and police obtained an arrest warrant.

Ms. Uomoleale turned herself in to Greenwich Police and was charged with 25 counts of Obtaining Controlled Substance by Fraud, 25 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and 25 Counts of Forgery 2.

She was assigned a court date on November 29, 2016 at Stamford Superior Court. She was able to post her $25,000 bond and was released from custody.
