The Mead School is organizing a workshop on Thursday, Feb 27 at 6:30pm titled, “How Do We Foster Expected Behaviors in Children: A Collaborative Approach for Home and School.”
In the workshop, Dr. Rand Gruen along with a panel of parents and Home Center Directors will address questions such as:
• How is all behavior communication?
• What behaviors do we “expect,” and how do we work with unexpected behaviors
• How does context (i.e. family dynamics, social dynamics in school, etc) affect behavior
• Why is empathy such an important skill to foster?
• How can home and school collaboration support your child’s growth and your efforts as caregivers?
During this workshop, topics will delve into:
• Understanding Behavior as Communication: How do we “expect” behaviors, and how can we address unexpected behaviors?
• The Power of Empathy: Why is empathy a crucial skill to nurture?
• Home and School Collaboration: How can a joint effort support your child’s growth and make your efforts more effective?
Interested parents, guardians, and educators from outside The Mead school community are welcome to attend the collaborative workshop.
The event is Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 6:30 pm in the school’s auditorium.
