Blizzard Update: Lamont Extends Severe Cold Weather Protocol to Thursday Afternoon

Gov Lamont has extended the severe weather protocol through Thursday afternoon. Frigid temps are expected to remain in Connecticut over the next couple of nights. The severe weather protocol was initially activated on Sunday, ahead of the blizzard & was set to expire today at noon, but the updated forecast is now showing that over the next couple of nights wind chills are expected to dip to around 10°. RH Estates Set to Open on Greenwich Ave in Spring 2026 at former Ralph Lauren Building

RH is expanding on Greenwich Avenue again. Originally known as Restoration Hardware, the business operated for several years at 239 Greenwich Ave, home today to Betteridge Jewelers. From there RH moved to their 23,000-square-foot flagship gallery, RH Greenwich/The Gallery at the Historic Post Office, in the repurposed building at 310 Greenwich Ave. They also operate RH Outdoor at 264 Greenwich Ave, focusing on outdoor collections, including furniture, lighting, and rugs. Postal Service Reminds Customers to Keep Paths Cleared for Carrier and Public Safety

Postal employees will make every reasonable effort to deliver the mail in the aftermath of Monday’s historic blizzard. At the same time, we must ensure the safety of our carriers along their routes. The Postal Service is reaching out to communities throughout the region to raise public awareness of the importance of keeping walkways, sidewalks, and approaches to mailboxes clear from snow and ice so letter carriers can resume safe and timely mail delivery. Mounds of snow and patches of ice in front of mailboxes create havoc for carriers trying to safely deliver the mail.
