Greenwich Police Department Opens Its Doors for Community-Focused Police Day 2026

Throughout the day, officers showcased specialized units including the SWAT team, dive team, and the department drone program. Police vehicles and equipment were displayed outside headquarters as children and families had the opportunity to speak directly with officers about their roles and training.

Riverside Garden Club To Celebrate Nation’s 250th at Knapp’s Tavern

The Riverside Garden Club invites all to join them for a tour of the Colonial Herb Garden and light refreshments. Two Roads Brewery of Stratford has generously volunteered to brew ale using the hops grown at the colonial garden.  Come sample what George Washington would have been served at the Knapp’s Tavern during his traverse through Greenwich 250 years ago.

Man Charged with Manslaughter 1 in Cos Cob Heroin Overdose Death

On October 27,2 017, Greenwich Police responded to Cos Cob on a report of an unresponsive person. Officers found a deceased man in one of the bathrooms of the home. The man was later identified as Michael Turzilli, 24. The chief medical examiner determined the man died from a heroin overdose, and GPD went after the man who provided him illegal drugs.
