Spirit All Stars, Youth Level 1 Malachites and Senior Level 2 DIAMONDites performed  Tuesday night at their home, Spirit Zone Too in Greenwich, for the final time before they leave for the inaugural D2 Summit in front of friends, family, former coaches and distinguished guests, including Greenwich’s First Selectman Peter Tesei.

Seven years ago, Varsity was inspired by the talent within the All Star industry and listened to its customers when they asked for a high caliber event that recognized teams in non-world divisions and created the Summit.

For the 2016 season, Varsity All Star is committed to producing an innovative, prestigious, competitive and unforgettable end-of-year all-level experience for gyms with 125 athletes or less, the D2 (Small Gym) Summit.

“It is a huge accomplishment to get a bid to the Summit. Only the best of the best teams are invited to compete at this prestigious event,” said gym owner Anne Aguiar-Asta. “I am so proud of my athletes and coaches  for working so hard to achieve this top honor, and to be the only gym representing the state of Connecticut, with not one but  two teams at the inaugural D2 Summit.”

Both Spirit teams must place in the top 15 of the semi-final round competition on Saturday to move on to the finals on Sunday.
