Greenwich Hospital to Host Town Hall Style Meeting for Feedback on Proposed Smilow Cancer Center

On Thursday, July 22, from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, Greenwich Hospital will hold a town hall meeting via Zoom to provide the community a chance to ask questions and raise any concerns about the proposed Smilow Cancer Center at the corner of Lake Ave and Lafayette Place, replacing a row of seven houses and medical offices.

Proposed Smilow Cancer Center will be 50,000+ sq ft and replace 7 residential and medical office buildings.

At the last appearance before Greenwich’s Planning & Zoning commission, outstanding issues included whether a 50,000+ sq ft cancer facility was right for the proposed location and whether it had the right look and feel for the neighborhood. They also continued to have concerns about whether the scale, traffic and parking would have a detrimental impact on the neighborhood. While the facility would be of benefit for Greenwich residents, it would be a regional destination, with accompanying traffic.

Representing the hospital will include President Diane Kelly and members of the Greenwich Hospital administration. Greenwich residents are encouraged to bring questions.

Interested participants need to register for the Zoom link.

Register by calling 888-305-9253 or online at www.greenwichhospital.org/events
