Constantine Basil Filardi, 95

Constantine Basil Filardi was born December 6, 1930, to Constantino and Susan (Fusco) Filardi and passed away peacefully May 1st , 2026, surrounded by family.

He grew up in White Plains, New York, and attended White Plains High School. He later attended the Fordham University School of Business, graduating in 1952.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and trained at the U.S. Naval Academy in Newport, Rhode Island. He was stationed in the Philippines aboard the USS Ticonderoga from 1953 to 1956 as a Lieutenant Commander.  After his discharge from active duty, he attended Fordham University School of Law and graduated in 1959, while continuing his service in the Naval Reserve until 1975.

Constantine was an attorney admitted to the New York Bar in 1960 and to the United States District Court (Southern District of New York) in 1965. He opened a general law practice in Armonk, specializing in Real Estate Law and where he served the community as North Castle Town Judge.  His law office was a familiar cornerstone of the town, and his love of art was reflected throughout the space. He remained active in civic life, serving as President of the American Red Cross in Armonk (1963) and participating in the Armonk Lions Club (1965). He was also a member of the Northern Westchester Bar Association.

He had a lifelong passion for the arts especially Italian Renaissance culture, opera, and ballet. Italy held a special place in his heart: he admired its history and traditions, delighted in its architecture and museums, and never tired of discovering the stories behind its cities and regions. He took great pride in his Calabrian heritage and his family’s roots in Italy, and he enjoyed sharing that appreciation with his family.

Uncle Con” is remembered with love. He is survived by his sisters, Geraldine Barradas of Stamford CT and Dolores Filardi of Seminole FL as well as many nieces and nephew.
