Tree Warden to Hold Public Hearing on Fate of 188 Trees at CMS

The Greenwich Tree Warden, Dr. Greg Kramer, has scheduled a public hearing on the fat of 188 Town trees proposed to be removed at the campus of Central Middle School at 9 Indian Rock Lane, where there are plans in the works to replace the 1958 building with a new one.

The new school as proposed would not be on the existing footprint. Instead it is proposed to be set further back into the wooded area behind the existing school. As such, children would not be relocated during construction.

A number of the town trees proposed to be removed are in and around the giant rock outcropping, located opposite the current front entrance to the building.

In fact, many have speculated that rock outcropping gave Indian Rock Lane its name.

See notice of proposed removals here.
