Selectmen OK Bible Street Detour on Wednesday, March 18

Screen Shot 2015-03-15 at 5.27.35 AMEversource’s community relations specialist Tracey Alston received approval from the Board of Selectmen for a road closure on March 18 on Bible Street.

Following the removal of a stone wall at 180 Bible Street where, the utility company’s pole appeared to be in the street. Eversource decided to put a new pole in a safer location on the narrow windy street.

The first part of the project was to install the new pole, which took place in February. Now the stub poles must be removed and a new guy and span wires must be installed. The work will require a full day on March 18 and necessitate closing Bible Street between Clover Place and Cat Rock Rd.

The detour for northbound traffic will be Clover Place to Dandy Drive to Valley Rd to Cat Rock Rd, and reverse for southbound traffic.

All local traffic will be allowed access.

Eversource will be installing the appropriate detour signs, notifying adjacent properties and hiring two police officers to handle traffic control.

If the weather does not cooperate, the project will be rescheduled.
