From the Greenwich Dept of Public Works, Oct 8, 2025
The Department of Public Works (DPW) will begin the final phase of the Greenwich Avenue Streetscape Improvements this fall with milling and paving operations. Work is scheduled to begin October 20 and is expected to be completed by November 26.
To minimize daytime disruption, construction will occur Monday through Thursday evenings between 9:00 pm and 6:00 am. The project will be carried out in phases and includes roadwaymilling and paving, restriping, and decorative crosswalk stamping.
This project represents the culmination of streetscape improvements along Greenwich Avenue, which have included new ADA-compliant sidewalks and curbing, drainage enhancements, and intersection realignments.
Traffic & Access
Detours will be in place during night work. The Greenwich Police Department will be on-site to assist with traffic management and ensure residents and businesses can access their properties safely. Work is expected to last no more than three weeks. The schedule is subject to change due to weather, equipment availability, traffic impacts, or other unforeseen conditions.
Community Coordination DPW has developed a robust communications plan to ensure residents, businesses, and visitors are well-informed. Updates will be shared through press releases, the Town website, social media, variable message boards, and other channels.
DPW is also coordinating with the Office of the First Selectman, Emergency Services, and the Department of Parking Services to ensure consistent messaging across all communication channels.
