Fjord’s authentic New England style Lobster Clambake is more than a meal. It’s an experience. The Fjord staff will deliver a traditional east coast clambake to the location of your choice, whether it be your backyard or even the beach, and whether you’re planning a family reunion, a company party, or starting your own summer tradition.
“Clambakes get talked about, it’s different than a barbecue” says Jim Thistle, owner of Fjord. “My favorite part is that people get to eat with their fingers – it gives them the opportunity to kick back.”
When the Lobster Clambake is complete, guests enjoy the excitement of the “unveiling” as the steam billows out and the seafood is poured into attractive platters in preparation for serving. Guests then delight in the incredible seafood feast before them. The meal is finished off with big juicy slices of watermelon.
“It’s a great way to entertain, but not all of us have easy access to the beach. Luckily, we can recreate the clambake experience at any home, no matter where you live,” said Thistle. “Be a guest at you own party.”

Three customized Clambakes:
Standard Clambake starts with 1-1/4 pound Juicy Steamed Maine Lobster, Connecticut Littleneck Clams, PEI Mussels, Chorizo Sausage, Corn-on-the Cob, Red New Potatoes served with Creamy Coleslaw. Their signature Fjord Dip with Ritz Crackers & Jalapeño is also included, as is refreshing Watermelon.
Experience the Classic Clambake, the Standard Clambake with a few Additions… and add on a Chef-Prepared Soup, such as: New England Clam Chowder, Lobster Bisque or Cold Gazpacho. Rather a salad than soup? – a crisp Caesar Salad or Baby Arugula Salad with a Balsamic Vinaigrette are freshly tossed. Choose one of their tempting, seasonal Desserts: Strawberry Rhubarb Pie, Blueberry Crumble Bars or Apple Pie.
Indulge in the Signature Clambake, the Classic Clambake Upgraded with a 1 1/2 pound Lobster and our Signature Raw Bar, which includes: Connecticut Littleneck Clams, Fjord Large Cooked Shrimp and Locally Harvested Blue Point Oysters. Tasty accompaniments include: lemon wedges, cocktail sauce, fresh horseradish, mignonette and hot sauce.
Every detail is thought through, all clambakes are served with fresh lemon, drawn butter, lobster crackers, bibs and wet naps.

They are know for sourcing the highest quality seafood available in the market, regardless of price. “We focus on finding “responsibly-sourced” seafood –to ensure we are selling the highest quality seafood possible. Our shrimp, for instance, are always wild caught. We never sell or serve farm-raised shrimp from Asia because it doesn’t meet our strict standards….you can taste the difference in quality too, explained catering manager, Brian Hayslip.
Fjord’s friendly, knowledgeable staff will assist with all aspects of planning your event including menu selections, rentals, staffing, and decorations.
Fjord’s chefs arrives in advance of serving time, set up their kitchen, serving tables, condiments, and claw crackers – they bring it all. Then they get steaming: everything is cooked fresh right there at your party.
If you’re having a raw bar, they kick that off as guests arrive. Chowder, soup or salad is served first, then the lobster and sides, followed by fresh watermelon and optional seasonal desserts.
