Don’t be Fooled by Fake Text Message Delivery Scam

The Better Business Bureau receives many reports on their Scam Tracker about fake texts and emails, many of them claiming your Amazon, Paypal, Netflix or bank account has been compromised.

However, the most popular fake text message scam this time of year is the delivery scam.

Fraudsters say there’s a problem with your delivery, your house number is missing, and you need to pay a small fee to get your package. They may even include a picture of the package.

Once you’ve handed over your credit card information they can charge whatever they want to.

They may send you a link to fill out a form but you may wind up downloading malware onto your phone instead.
