DUI for Stamford Woman Who Drove into the Woods in Riverside

Greenwich Police arrested a Stamford woman on Monday night after being dispatched to the area of 200 Riverside Ave, new St Paul’s Episcopal Church, on a report of a car that had been driven into the woods.

Around 10:30pm officers arrived and observed the accused, later identified as Shameeka Danielle Shavers, 41, in the driver’s seat of her vehicle, attempting to maneuver out of the woods.

Polie say that while speaking with the Ms Shavers investigating officers observed her to be unsteady on her feed and detected the odor of alcoholic beverage. Shavers was unable to perform field sobriety tests to standard. She was arrested and charged with DUI.

She was able to post the required minimum 10% of her $250 bond and was released. She has a date in Stamford Superior Court on Dec 26, 2023.
