Dear Members of the Greenwich Community,
Earlier this week, I submitted my resignation as a member of the Board of Education, effective August 26th. As much as I appreciate the importance of my service to the Board, family commitments this year make my resignation necessary.
I am very proud of my five years spent in service to the Board. As the district nears the end of our current 5 year strategic plan, academic achievement across all demographics has never been higher. The new Central Middle School is about to open, while progress continues at Old Greenwich, Julian Curtiss, and ADA projects across the district.
While the public announcement of my departure may seem sudden, we’ve spent much of the summer laying the groundwork behind the scenes for a smooth transition.
Meanwhile, the work continues.
This fall, the Board will need to push forward with drafting the next Strategic Plan, continuing plans to leave the Havemeyer Building, and the elimination of the ridiculous prohibition on night games and practices at GHS.
I am grateful and honored for the opportunity to serve and look forward to continuing to support our community however I can for many years ahead.
