It should be wake up time for Greenwich. This appointment is so egregious as to illustrate that our amateur hour crony political management is failing to competently address our future.
As to this appointment, I had an opportunity to discuss another matter with Goldstein a couple of years ago when he was campaigning at the transfer station. I asked his position on solar power. He said he had done a study and it didn’t work here in Connecticut. I replied I had just installed a 41KW solar system for a client with a 16% Return On Investment. That didn’t faze his assertion a bit.
So this deliberate ignorance as evident and in your face obvious in his land use violations are beyond excuse in ignoring. We also see similar party and crony relationships in other areas in our management. We had a GHS student who learned science in school advocating against burning fossil fuels in a proposal being publicly told that since the head of the BET and longtime colleague of the 1st Selectman did not believe in the science she was taught that her proposal could not be adopted.
We should have educated leadership grounded in facts and science as well as our own local environmental law to respect and preserve our air and land environment. This should not be an uphill battle especially in cases where it is costing us millions of dollars
