On Thursday Veterinary Emergency Group, VEG for short, celebrated the opening of their 40th location, and their first in Connecticut.
Located at 409 East Putnam Ave in Cos Cob, VEG’s pet hospital will offer 24-hour emergency and urgent care, 365 days a year.
The gathering was enthusiastic. Among those gathered was Tariq Seabrook, the VEG Greenwich Shift Lead, with his 8-week old Yorkie named Emerald after Tariq’s birthstone.
Also in attendance was Eleanor, a black Lab mix rescue dog who came from the south to Connecticut via Lucky Dog Rescue in Stamford.
VEG is unique in that it is open 24/7 to help pet parents with emergencies when their family veterinarian is closed. The hospital has an open floor plan that allows pet parents to have freedom of movement from exam room to treatment floor, and they can stay with their pet during all phases of treatment, including surgery and overnight hospitalization.
