A historic event will take place in Greenwich that is set to captivate high school students and provide them with a unique and enlightening experience.
Mendel Gestetner, a dedicated IDF soldier currently serving in the Gaza war zone, will be taking a 2-week break and head to Greenwich to share his firsthand experiences.
This event, part of the five-part Israel Odyssey series exclusively for high school students in Greenwich, aims to not only provide insights into the challenges faced by those on the front lines but also to foster a deeper understanding and respect for different perspectives.
In light of the prevailing anti-Semitism worldwide, this event seeks to bring awareness to the ongoing situation in Israel. Through Mendel’s narrative, attendees will gain a more profound appreciation for the sacrifices made by individuals like him and the complexities of the region. The evening program is designed not only to educate but also to encourage dialogue and empathy among the participants.
The event also features a Krav Maga session by professional self-defense instructor Gus Bottazzi, emphasizing the importance of personal safety and empowerment. A Shawarma station catered by ‘Golan Heights NYC’ adds a cultural touch to the evening, allowing students to engage with the richness of Israeli cuisine.
Moreover, a community service project for Israel is incorporated into the program, providing an opportunity for students to actively contribute to a cause and promote unity.
