Second Congregational Church Announces Christmas Eve Services

On Christmas Eve at 3:30pm, Second Congregational Church of Greenwich (located at 139 East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich) will hold a no-rehearsal children’s Christmas Pageant on the church lawn with a live nativity.

If you would like to participate in the pageant, please arrive by 3:00pm to receive a costume.

There will also be a small petting zoo, allowing visitors to meet and pet live animals, as well as a stand serving free hot cocoa.

“The story of Christmas is about how God’s love brings people together, calls us to work for peace, and to know the deep joy that faith invites us to share,” said Senior Minister Maxwell Grant, adding, “It’s festive and inspiring for people of all ages.”

At 6:30pm the church will also hold a traditional family service in the Sanctuary.

Music Director Alexander Constantine will be joined by a brass quartet, soloists Kevin Douglas, Yasmeen Audi, and Miastasha Gonzalez, as well as the Chancel Choir Women’s Chorus.

It will also be available on the church’s YouTube channel, @2ccGreenwich.

Finally, at 11:15pm, the church will hold its traditional Candlelight service with Holy Communion, concluding with congregational singing of “Silent Night” at midnight under the shadow of the church tower.

An informal, kid-friendly, “come in your PJs” service featuring bluegrass Christmas music will be held on Christmas Day at 10:30am in the church Chapel.

There is ample parking on campus.

The church encourages any who are seeking God during this special time of the year to join them for any of the above services.

All are welcome!
