Junior League of Greenwich “Packs for the Packs” Doggy Donation Drive and Dog Photo Contest Raise $800 for Adopt-A-Dog

A new project at the Junior League of Greenwich, “Packs for the Pack” Doggy Donation Drive and a Dog Photo Contest, raised $800 for Adopt-A-Dog.

This two-part project not only included donations of dog toys, food, dog treats, new dog beds/blankets, and laundry detergent but also an online Dog Photo Contest whereby people submitted their cute, funny or favorite photo of their dog. Thanks to social media, the contest extended beyond our borders.

The “Packs for the Pack” were created by placing canned pumpkin, canned chicken and a new toy inside a new bath towel that was tied with a new leash. The Packs were presented to Brian Gordiski, Director of Operations at Adopt-A-Dog, along with all the other donations at the Junior League house on Saturday, June 19.

Gordiski brought Daffodil, an adorable young dog that is waiting to be adopted.

Pet Pantry Warehouse selected the contest winners of the Dog Photo Contest and provided them with gift certificates. Pet Pantry donated new leashes, harnesses, collars, and toys to the Doggy Donation Drive and also matched what the Junior League raised by donating an additional $800 to Adopt-A-Dog.

The Junior League is grateful for the overwhelming response and help from local businesses who donated many items to create the “Packs”. Thank you to Pet Pantry Warehouse, Acme in Greenwich, Stop & Shop in Greenwich, ShopRite in Stamford, Jembro in Port Chester, PupppyHugger.com and AlphaGraphics in Greenwich.
