Good News for Greenwich. Jenny Byxbee Hired by Town to Oversee Youth Services

Jenny Byxbee will continue to work to support Greenwich’s young people after all. After stepping own from her role at the Greenwich United way in February following many changes at that non-profit, Byxbee will run the Greenwich Youth Services Bureau under the auspices of  the Town of Greenwich, which officially accepted the funds from the State of Connecticut to carry on the vital work with youth.

Jenny Byxbee’s transition into the Youth Services role for the Town begins on Wednesday, March 2. She will continue to develop and oversee the Greenwich Youth Services Bureau grant, the First Selectman’s Youth Commission, and the Juvenile Review Board.

“The Town of Greenwich, especially the youth of Greenwich, is most fortunate that we have had Jenny Byxbee as our Youth Services point person,” Greenwich Police Chief Heavy said. “For over ten years she has tackled issues facing kids and their parents, ranging from child care to parent advocacy, and from fostering positive teen activities to addressing youth at risk.”

“Jenny puts her heart and soul into all that she does in support of our community’s youth,” Heavey continued. “The Greenwich Police Department looks forward to the future with a new service model that will deliver those same great results.”

“One of Mrs Byxbee’s best qualities, if you get to know her, is that she is a kid a heart, and she believes with us that we as young people can make a difference and with her we do,” said  Alex Schnur Vice Chair, First Selectman’s Youth Commission. “Now thanks to the town will continue too.”
