Family Centers to Honor Volunteers at a Breakfast on April 7

family centersIn celebration of National Volunteer Week, Family Centers will host a Volunteer Recognition Breakfast on Thursday, April 7 from 8:30 – 10 am. The breakfast will be held at Family Centers’ 40 Arch Street Offices in Greenwich.At the event, Jennifer Flatow, Family Centers’ Director of Community Engagement, will present several special awards to volunteers whose service strengthened Family Centers’ mission.

Awards will be given to Karen Giannuzzi, Mothers for Others; Chris Templeman & Brad Barber, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management; Brooks Daniel & Malisa Werkheiser, Greenwich Avenue Apple Store; and Amy Sethi & Jillian Combis, Family Centers’ Associate Board of Directors.

Greenwich First Selectman Peter Tesei will also present a special proclamation to honor Family Centers’ 125th anniversary and recognize the organization’s many generous volunteers for their hard work over the past year.  With more than 3,000 volunteers lending their time and effort to its mission of empowering individuals, families and communities to reach their true potential, Family Centers owes much of its success to these dedicated individuals and families.

Family Centers is a private, nonprofit organization offering education and human services to children, adults and families in Fairfield County.  More than 200 professionals and 3,000 trained volunteers work together to provide a wide range of responsive, innovative programs. A United Way, Community Fund of Darien and New Canaan Community Foundation partner agency, Family Centers is a member of the Connecticut Council of Family Service Agencies and the Alliance for Children and Families and is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
